Finally Settled
Sep 20 2011It seems like forever since I have been able to sit down and write. Did you miss me?
For those of you who may not know I just completed a move from Maine to Vermont and it has taken me a while to get settled here. On top of that my complete inventory of jewelry was lost for a couple of weeks so things were quite hectic.
We have rented out the house in Maine (and are renting here) while we finish some work on it and I am wondering already if that was a bad decision. I hope the tenant situation improves and things begin to run more smoothly. Meanwhile we are paying a mortgage and a rather high rent.
I am on the hunt for a "regular" job. You’ve heard the term "starving artist"? It is in fact accurate! I have lost 12 pounds though so what the heck? I have a couple of promising prospects and should know by the end of the week what I will be doing. That means that I won’t have as much time as usual for my hats this year. As soon as I actually get hired somewhere I will not be taking any special requests for hats. They really pick up in sales from November to February…go figure.
Time to feed the dogs, get ready for the day and get to work in the studio while I still can.
